Profoundly Effective Micro-Current Pain-Healing Therapy
to be Demonstrated at February 25th Bay-Area Open House

Hollywood Stuntman to share amazing testimony on how painful, shattered leg was healed by Electro-Acuscope and Myopulse devices

San Jose, Calif. February 21, 2006 – The Thorp Institute of Integrated Medicine—a provider of Electro-Acuscope and Myopulse micro-current devices for pain therapy—is enhancing its presence in the Bay Area by expanding its national network of trained professionals; offering a certification program for Physicians, Physical Therapists, Chiropractors, and other Health Professionals; and establishing a center for cooperative services in Palo Alto.

The Thorp Institute, which is dedicated to offering the best Micro-current Therapy Solution in the industry for pain relief, distributes the electro-therapy devices and provides a certification training program.

An open house and demonstration will be held Saturday, February 25th from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Qi Center, 2409 Park Blvd., Palo Alto, Calif. for members of the media; medical, dental and alternative therapy professionals; and the general public. For information, call (562) 430-9409 or go to www.empiricalenterprise.com.

“Our goal is to establish a properly trained network of 1000 technicians from coast-to-coast to deliver this highly effective pain relieving treatment to the general public,” said John Thorp, founder and president of the Thorp Institute. “This demonstration is being provided in the San Jose area where demand for this technology and the number of clients seeking a proven method of relief from chronic and acute pain is growing exponentially,” said Thorp. Currently, more than 60 technicians are trained, primarily on the West Coast.

The therapy has been in use for over 20 years with dramatic results documented for the treatment of pain associated with a wide range of ailments: carpal tunnel, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, acute and chronic back pain, wound healing, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, spinal injuries, TMJ, plantar fasciitis, herpes/shingles, detoxification, Bell’s palsy, and tendonitis.

The Electro-Acuscope and Myopulse first made headlines when then Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw used them to rehabilitate his damaged throwing arm for the 1983 Super Bowl. Since then, the Electro-Acuscope and Myopulse have been responsible for speeding up the recovery time of top athletes including Joan Benoit, Jack Nicklaus, Hale Erwin, Joe Montana, Wayne Gretsky, Mary Decker, and Michael Jordan.

The Thorp Institute offers industry-leading treatment protocols developed through the application of more than 50,000 treatments with more than a 90% success rate addressing the pain associated with multiple pain-associated conditions.

The Electro-Acuscope and Myopulse are electro-therapy instruments that introduce a low voltage micro-current through injured tissue to restore the natural electrical balance of the cells to facilitate tissue repair at the cellular level and promote cell regeneration at an accelerated rate. While other electro-therapies mask symptoms by short-circuiting pain, the Electro-Acuscope and Myopulse therapy accelerates the healing process with results typically producing immediate pain relief and improvement in mobility.

The Electro-Acuscope and Myopulse micro-current devices, made available by the Thorp Institute, are approved by the Food and Drug Administration as Class II Medical Devices that can be operated by anyone under the supervision of a Physician, Chiropractor, Physical Therapist, Doctor of Oriental Medicine or Naturopath.

Thorp himself, who was a 30-year stuntman for shows such as Hawaii Five-O and Magnum P.I., was successfully treated using the electro-therapy devices. After shattering all the bones in his leg and being told he would require a knee replacement, he today walks pain free after having his leg completely healed.

Plans for the Open House include a presentation by Dr. Robert Rostau, who successfully reversed symptoms of a herniated disc through the use of the Electro-Acuscope and Myopulse. Dr. Rostau, John Thorp and other members of the new Thorp Institute Co-operative Team (www.empiricalenterprise.com) will share their experiences and demonstrate treatments at the Qi Center (www.qi-center.net).

“Our focus is not on selling, but on planting seeds by doing treatments, demonstrations, and talking to people at tradeshows, door-to-door, and networking,” said Tone Anogianakis, Vice President of Sales and Training. “Most importantly, it will be by example of health, happiness and relief from pain that others will be attracted.”
